Nothing about crafts today...
Instead I need to vent. My mom has chemo so I am home in Indiana for a few months, no big deal except I just found out my husband has to have surgery on his jaw on the 23rd of this month. WHY oh why can I not be in two places at once right now. He is all the way in Tennessee and I really want to be there even though he says he will be fine. They both need me and this was the dilemma I was worried about when I decided to get married and move away. I feel like no matter what choice I make I am letting someone down that needs me. I dont even have any siblings to help out with mom while I go take care of my husband and all our family is here in Indiana. Maybe his mom will drive down and help my husband out for awhile since she is retiring this week. This has been a really bad year and I am sooo glad its almost over. I started the year out in March with an emergency surgery for crohns, Kyle had surgery in June for his ankle and then September comes and we find out my mom has cancer and now this... I mean really WTF. Scientist get on it and make a teleporting machine for me by the 22nd please.

Been a while...
Been a bit since I posted anything, sorry about that. I was spinning but I am back to cross stitch now. Unfortunately its super secret stuff that I cant show yet because its for my first mini swap at Sprite Stitch!!!! I have all my patterns made up and all my supplies. I started on a couple of the things I'm making and when my swapee gets their stuff when I am finished I shall post some pics. I did make a few little cases to hold needles, scissors and thread. They are made completely of felt and come in really handy. The pattern can be found here. I love my case and made a second for a friend. The only thing I changed about the case was I added a piece of elastic over the scissors to help hold them in as mine were ALWAYS falling out.

Spinning Wheel Fixed...YAY.
My spinning wheel is fixed now and once the part got to me I had no problems. Schacht is fantastic and they were so nice even though I felt like I was being a pain ( I was basically crying when I left my message to them and was freaking out) and asked tons of questions.
Just because my wheel is fixed doesn't mean I won't be using my spindle (and my trundle when it get here). I joined a spindler group for TdF so have to spin on it anyway plus its way fun.
This has totally nothing to do with crafts but is on a personal level, my DH had surgery and it went well but he won't let me help him and keeps trying to go down the stairs alone (its his right foot that is in a splint now) and he almost fell down the stairs today. He is either going to break his neck or give me a heart attack before this is over.

Spinning
Ok so I have taken an break from cross stitch. I went to embroidery for a week or two and now I am spinning. Its time for the Tour de Fleece almost. I have only been spinning since January and only a bit of my time has went to that. I have a Schacht Matchless and a Schacht Hi Lo Spindle. I will spin on both for the Tour de Fleece. The Tour de Fleece runs the whole time the Tour de France runs so thats almost a whole month and you set your own goals. Mine are so far to spin every day on either the wheel or the spindle and just get better at it.
I actually got a wheel first and then a spindle. Spinning on the spindle for a couple days has made my drafting so much better I can't wait to see the difference when I get back on my wheel, which is waiting on a new T-knob because the old one was defective.
If you're interested in spinning Ravelry is a great resource to get you started and point you to other resources.

Disney Dreams Collection: Snow White
I tried really really hard to enjoy working on my pikachu project but I just can not do it and if I try to keep working on it I will get to the point where I don't even want to cross stitch at all. So to not get burned out on cross stitch I am working on the one I really want to work on which is my Disney Dreams Collection: Snow White. I had about two days work put into it before I tried working on the pikachu pile and now I have about three days worth of work into it. I plan on doing weekly updates every Sunday starting today even though it hasn't been a whole week.
I am also posting my progress here and on Sprite Stitch. Over at the Sprite Stitch forums there are two girls that are also working on the Disney Dreams Collections. One is working on the Beauty and the Beast one and is almost done and it looks spectacular. She has been working on it for 21 weeks. The other is working on the Lion King and they are on week three I think. Hopefully with two other people working on the Disney Collections I will stay motivated. I am hoping I do because I would love for this to be my first large finished project.

So I've Been Thinking
I really really want to participate in the next mini swap at Sprite Stitch. I think I could handle a mini swap especially since the last mini swap was for Sept/Oct and they gathered the info in July which would give even me plenty of time to finish and I would be determined to finish come hell or high water. But I am not confident in my creative ability to make gifts that would stand up to the other peoples. There is a ton of awesome talent on the Sprite Stitch boards and I wouldn't want to disappoint whoever I got for the swap. Ugh I feel so torn. I think I will pm BMH about it and maybe that will help me feel better.
Blog Under Construction
My blog will be under construction for a bit as I get used to using the CSS code to change it. Hopefully its still readable and viewable. I almost contemplated switching my blog over to LiveJournal because its just feels more customizable, but I am going to work on this one instead. If you encounter any errors just drop me a comment and I will try to fix it.
In the mean time here is a couple pictures of projects I actually finished.
Oh and any suggestions for color schemes are welcome, I am horrible with color.
